The first part of a redesign is choosing a color palette. Once you decide which colors you'd like to use, you'll need to decide which role they'll play in the design. Consider these tips when choosing your colors;
Primary Shade
The primary color will be dominantly used in 60% of the room. Since it's going to cover the most, this should be your most neutral color. This color would be a good choice for your walls and floor coverings.
Secondary Shade
The secondary shade can be a bit bolder and is usually fit for furniture. This color will be used in 30% of the room. Once you decide your secondary shade, the accents colors will pivot off of it to compliment the room.
Accent Color
Finally the accent color is your boldest choice and a true expression of your style. This is used to make a statement and bring your design to life. These pop colors can be found in accessories and fine details. Although it only makes up 10% of the room, the impact is drastic.
